Lions District 404B5 Nigeria is set to host a landmark fundraising event and public presentation in honour of the Pioneer District Governor, Lion Phina Origho PMJF NLCF, as the new district begins a new chapter of impactful humanitarian service.

The highly anticipated event, scheduled to hold on Saturday, 5th September 2026, at Queens Park Events, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together Lions, distinguished guests, community leaders, philanthropists, corporate organizations, and friends of service from across Nigeria and beyond.

The event is designed to formally present Lion Phina Origho PMJF NLCF as the Pioneer District Governor of Lions International District 404B5 Nigeria, while also launching a major fundraising drive targeted at raising ₦750 million towards strategic humanitarian initiatives within the district.

At the heart of the fundraising initiative is the establishment and development of a Food Bank Project in Lagos, a flagship intervention aimed at addressing food insecurity and providing sustainable support to vulnerable individuals, families, and communities. The project aligns with the Lions’ global mission of serving communities and improving the quality of life for those in need.

The proposed food bank will serve as a structured platform for collecting, storing, and distributing essential food items to underserved populations, ensuring that assistance reaches people facing hunger and economic hardship. Through this initiative, District 404B5 seeks to create a long-term solution that promotes dignity, compassion, and community resilience.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, the district leadership noted that the fundraising campaign represents more than a financial target; it is a collective commitment to service, compassion, and sustainable community development.

The public presentation of Lion Phina Origho also marks a historic milestone for District 404B5 Nigeria, celebrating the emergence of its first District Governor and highlighting the district’s vision for impactful service, stronger partnerships, and transformative projects.

The event will feature presentations, networking opportunities, and engagement with individuals and organizations passionate about humanitarian service. Friends and partners will also have the opportunity to contribute through various sponsorship and partnership opportunities aimed at strengthening the success of the initiative.

Lions International, one of the world’s largest service organizations, has continued to champion causes including hunger relief, vision care, diabetes awareness, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment. The new District 404B5 is expected to continue this tradition by delivering projects that create measurable and lasting impact.

The District 404B5 Nigeria warmly invites all and sundry, individuals, clubs, corporate bodies, government representatives, philanthropists, and members of the public to be part of this historic occasion and support this noble cause aimed at building a stronger and more caring society.
