Ekiti One Mind Lions Club marked the beginning of the Lions Service Year with a compassionate outreach to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, where it celebrated the First Baby of the Year with the donation of essential baby care items.
The visit was part of the club’s commitment to supporting maternal and child health, as members presented gift items to the newborn and the mother in recognition of the special moment. The donated items included large-size baby pampers, a big pack of detergent soap, and baby wipes, aimed at providing immediate relief and support for newborn care.
Members present during the outreach included Lion Prof. Bankole Benjamin Oyedele, Lion Oniyelu Temitope Eniitan, Lion Adekunle Rita, and Lion Princess Iyunade Abimbola Akomolafe, who all participated in the presentation and engagement with hospital officials and the beneficiary family.
The hospital management appreciated the gesture, noting that such interventions continue to complement healthcare services and bring relief to families at critical moments.
The outreach concluded with goodwill messages and renewed commitment from the Ekiti One Mind Lions Club to continue impactful service activities throughout the Lions year, especially in the areas of maternal health, child welfare, and community support.
