It was an evening of elegance, celebration, and well-deserved recognition as Lions District 404B2 Nigeria brought the curtain down on the successful 2025–2026 service year with a spectacular Award Night, where outstanding Lions, clubs, and service partners were honoured for their exceptional contributions to humanitarian service.
The glamorous event, tagged “Night of Real Service Excellence,” attracted Lions, dignitaries, and distinguished guests from across the district. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as attendees graced the red carpet in grand style before proceeding into an evening dedicated to celebrating excellence, commitment, and selfless service.
In addition to recognizing exceptional Lions, the district also honoured several service partners whose unwavering support and collaboration contributed significantly to the success of numerous humanitarian projects executed throughout the service year.
Addressing the gathering, Immediate Past District Governor, Lion Oluwakemi Eribake PMJF NLCF, expressed profound gratitude to every Lion, club, and partner who contributed to the remarkable achievements recorded during her administration.
She described the awards as a celebration of dedication, sacrifice, and teamwork rather than individual accomplishments.
“Tonight is not just about receiving trophies; it is about celebrating every act of kindness, every life touched, and every Lion who chose service above self. The successes we recorded this year were possible because we worked together as one family, and I encourage everyone to continue building on this legacy of excellence,” she said.
The evening featured the presentation of several prestigious honours across multiple categories, including the Apex Leadership Award, Pillar of Support Award, Champion of Service Award, and numerous other recognitions presented to deserving Lions who distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership and outstanding service.
One of the biggest moments of the night came with the announcement of the Best Club Awards. Out of 102 active clubs in the district, Lagos Elite Lions Club emerged as the Best Club for the 2025–2026 service year following an exceptional year of impactful service and remarkable performance.
Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club and Ikeja New Era Lions Club were declared Joint Second Best Clubs, while Lagos Marvel Lions Club, Ikeja Platinum Lions Club, and Eko Royal Lions Club shared the honours as Joint Third Best Clubs.
In the highly anticipated Best Club President category, Lion Lucy Unaegbu PMJF NLCF of Lagos Elite Lions Club was adjudged the Best Club President for the 2025–2026 Lions Service Year.
The Second Place honour was shared by Lion Adeniran Somefun and Lion Folashade Masowa, while Lion Olubimpe Gbaiye and Lion Olakunbi Olabiyi finished as Joint Third Place winners.
Leadership excellence was also celebrated at the district level as Lion Adedeji Olukokun PMJF NLCF and Lion Josephine Ngeleh MJF NLCF were declared Joint Best Region Chairpersons, in recognition of their exceptional leadership, membership growth, club development, and service impact experienced by clubs they led throughout the year while Lion Adekemi Badmos was also recognized as Second Place winner in the category.
The Best Zone Chairperson award went to Lion Modupe Salaudeen NLCF, while Lion Ololade Adewunmi was recognized as Second Place winner in the category.
The district also celebrated the outstanding efforts of several committee chairpersons whose dedication and effective leadership contributed immensely to the successful implementation of district programmes and initiatives during the service year.
The climax of the memorable evening came with the announcement of the district’s highest individual honour as Lion Ayomide Olayiwola Lobossa NLCF and Lion Josephine Ngeleh MJF NLCF were proclaimed Joint Lions of the Year. Their recognition drew thunderous applause from the audience as both recipients were celebrated for their exceptional commitment, inspirational leadership, and extraordinary service to Lionism.
The Award Night concluded with renewed enthusiasm and optimism as Lions reflected on a remarkable service year filled with impactful projects, unprecedented achievements, and transformational leadership. Beyond the trophies and accolades, the evening reaffirmed that the true reward of Lionism lies in lives touched, communities transformed, and the enduring commitment to serving humanity.
As the curtains closed on an unforgettable celebration, District 404B2 looked back with pride on a legacy of excellence while confidently embracing an even brighter future of humanitarian service with the newly bifurcated District 404B5 and District 404B6.
